Utah Tech 1 beat Utah Tech 2 in 4 straight games.

⭐ Standout Performances

  • Lesa Ritchie (UCSD) – a powerhouse for UCSD, Lesa Ritchie performed strong across multiple brackets – racking up wins in Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Singles.  Her competitive fire made her one of the most impactful players of the weekend.  
  • GCU Team 1 (Leanna Ching, Journey Barajas, Will Lieberman and Artur Fonseca) – The entire team shined as standout performers. Grand Canyon University went toe-to-toe with Utah Tech 1 not once, but twice. In pool play, every game was razor-close — they didn’t take the win, but they kept Utah Tech on edge from start to finish. When the two teams met again in the semifinals, GCU 1 came out swinging in the barn-burner, taking two games and nearly toppling the Top Dog of collegiate pickleball. No team has pushed Utah Tech harder this season. 💥
