The 2025-26 Collegiate Pickleball Tour season opened in Kaysville, Utah, at The Picklr, with the CPT Utah Super Regional setting the stage for an exciting year ahead. A total of 20 teams from 7 colleges – Utah Tech, University of Utah, UVU, Utah State University, Southern Utah University, Brigham Young University, and USC – battled through intense match play to kick off the season.
The finals turned into an all-Utah Tech showdown, with Team 1 (Ella Boydston, Lauren Mercado, Clayton Boydston, Liam Duffin) taking on Team 2 (Dylan Ciampini, Mary Monson, Benson Parry, Payton Weber). Utah Tech Team 2 women struck first with an upset over Team 1’s women, but Team 1 responded with authority, winning the next three matches to secure the championship. With a 3–1 victory, Utah Tech Team 1 claimed the first title of the season, a bid to Nationals, and $2,500 in prize money.
The top three finishers – Utah Tech, UVU, and USC – also earned bids to the Collegiate Pickleball Tour Nationals. Fans can relive all the action from the semifinals and finals on DUPR’S YouTube Channel.
With Utah Tech setting the early standard, the focus now shifts to next weekend, when the NCPA launches its first regional event of the year with 33 teams from 15 colleges competing in Division I.
