Battle in the Lone Star⭐: Washington Captures Texas Regional Title

The NCPA Texas Regional brought excitement, upsets, and incredible collegiate pickleball action from start to finish.

8th-seeded Mississippi State stunned the crowd with an impressive run to the semifinals, taking down top-ranked San Diego State University in the quarterfinals. Their momentum, however, met a wall against the 4th-ranked University of Washington, who proved too strong and advanced to the finals.

On the opposite side of the bracket, 2nd-ranked LSU faced a major test early against University of Colorado–Boulder, narrowly surviving a 7th-game tiebreaker in the quarterfinals. Battle-tested and determined, LSU went on to defeat UT–San Antonio in six games to secure their place in the championship match.

In the finals, LSU—featuring Eden Guirard, Ethan Martin, Hunter Merritt, and Lauryn Goodwin—pushed Washington to the brink, forcing a sixth game and coming within two points (12–10) of sending it to a tiebreaker.

Ultimately, it was the University of Washington team—Jessica Pil, Rohan Thawani, Lorin Lee, and Luke Williams—who emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle.

Congratulations to UW on capturing the NCPA Texas Regional title!  And hats off to LSU and all the teams for delivering an unforgettable weekend of collegiate pickleball.
